Happiness Falls by Angie Kim is admittedly a hard read, but so worth the effort. For every wonderful thing that happens in this story, there is a price to pay. This is a missing person mystery wrapped around a family drama dealing with a neurodivergent teen. I’m not going to write a book report. There are plenty of reviews describing the plot. The synopsis for the book is very detailed, as well. I can tell you that there is much to be learned within these pages if you let it seep in. It’s not meant as a springboard for the autism debates. What the author hasn’t experienced first-hand, she has researched thoroughly. I appreciated the author’s notes at the end of the book. What I loved most about the story is the raw emotional moments and the narrator’s voice. Thank you, Angie Kim. #23for23
